Consultations

At iNetwork, we collaborate with government partners to provide essential consultations. A consultation is any activity that empowers local individuals to voice their opinions and influence key decisions. It involves actively listening to and learning from the community before policies are formulated or priorities established. Effective consultation is one of the most critical actions government can undertake. By engaging meaningfully with local voices and our members, we enhance the creation and implementation of policies.

We offer a diverse array of consultation opportunities tailored to various program areas and topics for all iNetwork members. These consultations are designed to address a range of interests and concerns, with the goal of influencing public policy through informed dialogue. Take a look below at any of the consultations we have been apart of.

iNetwork's Joint Response to the Public Accounts Committee on - AI Consultation on the Views on Proposed Code of Practice for AI and Cyber Security

In a collaborative effort to influence the future of local governance, iNetwork, alongside organisations including the Local Government Association (LGA),  Society for Innovation, Technology and Modernisation (SOCITIM), the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (Solace), and the London Office for Technology and Innovation (LOTI), have provided a substantial joint response to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s (DSIT) call for views on a proposed code of practice for AI and cyber security.

Following the release of the Government White Paper in March 2023, there has been a surge of interest surrounding the implications of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This report highlights our commitment to harnessing collective expertise and experiences to adeptly address consultation processes initiated by governmental bodies and external organisations concerning policies that significantly impact local government.

We invite you to explore our findings and insights as you read through our joint response, which underscores the dedication of iNetwork and our partners to shaping a progressive and responsive local government framework.
