On Friday 12th September 2025, Manchester played host to the Northern WARP 5th Annual Conference, a hybrid gathering that brought together public sector professionals, cybersecurity experts, and information governance leaders from across the North. Held at the Kings House Conference Centre and streamed online, the event was a vibrant showcase of collaboration, insight, and forward-thinking solutions in the realm of cyber and information security.

This was our biggest conference yet and the feedback was amazing! We had the biggest number of attendees we’ve had so far with delegates from all over the UK public sector attending. The sessions focused on:

  • Cybersecurity Trends and Threat Intelligence: Expert speakers from government and industry unpacked the latest threat landscapes and shared strategies for resilience.
  • Information Governance and Data Protection: Panels explored evolving legislation, best practices, and leadership in safeguarding personal data.

The exhibitor hall was buzzing with energy, offering delegates a chance to explore cutting-edge solutions and services. Thank you again to our headline sponsor Risk Ledger and all the other sponsors who supported the event and helped build the energy in the exhibitor hall. Thanks again too all other partners who exhibited also. The conference provided a great opportunity for people to speak to MCHLG, ICO, LGA and other government representatives directly and in person.

We also ran interactive exercises at the conference for the first time and these were a great success and offered an opportunity for delegates to learn whilst also breaking up the day from the normal presentation format.

Overall the biggest takeaways from the day was the great community we have through the WARPs and the importance of building on this whilst also maintaining the independence and safety that they provide. The human element and culture of cyber security also came up a lot and shows the importance that it holds despite the ever evolving technological landscape.

Next years conference and Northern WARP events will continue to build on this collaboration and will continue to grow and get even bigger! Check out the full image gallery to see all the highlights from the day.
