In April we re-launched our iN The Loop webcast series to focus on the big challenges in the public sector. We have already successfully delivered two episodes, which are now available to listen back as short one hour podcasts. The first episode covered the Ukrainian Conflict and the second episode covered the Transition from CCG to ICS. Both episodes brought together expert speakers from across the sector, making for detailed and engaging sessions.
The first iN The Loop podcast on the Ukrainian Conflict covered a range of issues that have arisen and developed since the conflict began in February. We were joined by Daniel Coyne (Cheshire East Council), Yunus Mayat (Bradford City Council) and Ian Reed (YPO) who discussed the refugee crisis and homes for the Ukraine scheme, the increase and diversity in cyber threats and supply chain disruption respectively. The second episode brought together Stephen Curtis (East Riding Council) and Eleanor Moulton (Sefton Council). They discussed the complexities of the shift to Integrated Care Systems (ICS) and debated the potential for the reform to encourage the public sector to collaborate and focus on place based delivery. The reform is set to bring the health sector and local authorities much closer together to deliver services, however what this reform will look like is still unclear, with the deadline for the formation of ICS’s set for July 2022. iNetwork will follow the ICS reform and revisit the topic in the coming months as the public sector continues to transition and implement this new way of working. Click here to listen back to Stephen and Ellie’s insights or listen to the podcast below.
The sessions take a conversational format and are scheduled for an hour making it easily accessible for members to fit in around meetings or listen in while carrying out other tasks. We have been really encouraged by the engagement and feedback from the sessions so far and look forward to delivering sessions each month.
The Levelling Up agenda for the Local Public Sector
Wednesday 29th June 10 -11am
Levelling up has been a hot topic for the last couple of years. The long awaited white paper outlining the levelling up strategy was released in early 2022. The wide ranging paper covers many different aspects, with a strong focus on devolution of power to counties throughout the country. The paper holds the government to account with a number of ambitious targets to be achieved by 2030. This webcast will explore; how will these targets be achieved? What will levelling up look like at a local level? and how will it affect public service delivery?
Pooja Agrawal, CEO at Public Practice and Alison McKenzie-Folan, CEO at Wigan Council debated the topic. Listen back to the podcast now.
As well as being able to attend, members also have the opportunity to speak at the events. The next topic will be the Net Zero agenda and the session will take place 27 July. Click here to register for a ticket.
If you have an expert speaker on one of the above topics please get in touch. Additionally, if there are other big topics you would like to see the iNetwork debate, please get in touch.
