iNetwork is committed to providing support to its members and fostering collaboration across the public sector. On Thursday 10th October, iNetwork extended their support to the Enterprising Councils Group National Conference hosted by Coventry City Council both in-person and online!
iNetwork and the ECG have an ongoing relationship. The ECG group continues the work of the Local Government Association (LGA), Advanced Commercial Group (ACG) and has a connection to the National Cross Council Revenue Group (CCRG). The National Enterprising Councils Group (ECG) is a network of like-minded individuals all making a difference for their councils through best practice and business-minded sustainable income generation. It’s a cost-efficient driving force, leading and enabling learning, culture and upskilling business productivity capabilities. The group aims to share experiences and good practice to drive innovation, and share new, resourceful or unusual ways to successfully deliver greater social, environmental, and financial value for the public purse.
Hannah Gains and Billy Smith, Stakeholder Engagement Managers, attended the conference in person in Coventry; whilst online support was provided by Sarah Day, Stakeholder Engagement Manager, and Molly Platt, Partnership Support Officer. A collective effort from the iNetwork team supported the in-person presentations, provided technical support, and promoted online and in-person engagement. This meant that we were able to contribute to both the in-person experience and virtual experience for those unable to attend in person.
The conference provided an excellent platform to support councils on their commercial, business, and income-related journeys. Numerous council case studies were shared on the day explaining the various steps implemented to mobilising new initiatives that generate income and consider wider service benefits.
One key takeaway was the importance of networking which was emphasised throughout the day, through multitudes of conversations and focused break-out sessions, councils collectively came together to share best practice and obtain the best value possible through benchmarking products and services.
Billy Smith quotes, “The conference provided an excellent platform for networking, sharing ideas, and fostering collaboration, which all align with the core of our iNetwork values.”
Stay tuned with the incredible work being done across the board and future opportunities for iNetwork to collaborate with the Enterprising Council Group and its wider members!
