The Effective Information Sharing & Security (EISS) Programme continues to be a cornerstone of iNetwork’s commitment to supporting public sector organisations in navigating the evolving landscape of cyber security, information governance, and leadership.

Following strategic discussions earlier this year, the EISS Network Leadership Group (NLG) has formally agreed the programme’s priorities for 2025–26, building on a strong foundation of collaboration and innovation.

In the last financial year, the programme successfully hosted cyber security events, focused on the opportunity and threats of AI, offering training and support, as well as delivering the North West Warning Advice & Reporting Point (NWWARP) service.

Central to the strong delivery for this programme is the collaboration with the Northern WARP, a cyber collaboration across the north with Yorkshire & Humber WARP, North West WARP and IS North East WARP to deliver the Northern WARP Annual Conference.

As part of this year’s programme planning, we have engaged in discussions with the EISS NLG, a cross-sector board of experienced professionals from across the iNetwork membership. Together, we have agreed on the key priorities for 2025–26, ensuring they remain responsive to the evolving challenges and opportunities facing the local public sector.

These priorities are not static, they are shaped by emerging trends in cyber resilience, data governance, and digital transformation. By aligning our focus with the sector’s most pressing needs, the EISS programme continues to support meaningful collaboration, secure information sharing, and robust leadership across public services.

The 2025-26 main priorities for the EISS Programme are:

– Information Leadership
– Improving Cyber Security & Resilience
– Improved Necessary and Proportionate Information Sharing to Support Effective Partnership Working and Person-Centred Care

Sub-priorities have been updated to reflect the importance of recovery and business continuity after a cyber attack, the growing emergence of AI from security and governance perspectives, and supporting the application of new laws, guidance and best practice (such as the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill, and the Cyber Assessment Framework).

We already have lots of plans in place to deliver against the three EISS programme priorities and have delivered and established some great events and series in Q1. This included, the Supply Chain Series, the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) Peer Support Group, the Information Governance Series, as well as events on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Role of the GRC in Supply Chain Assurance.
