The Connected Procurement and Commissioning (CPC) programme has always championed the power of procurement and commissioning to drive real change. As we move through the 2025–26 delivery year, the programme continues to adapt to the evolving needs of public services.

Shaped by the CPC Network Leadership Group (NLG) and informed by our members, this year the programme focuses on two core priorities:

  1. Effective Co-Commissioning and Procurement Innovation

We know that better outcomes come from collaboration. That’s why this year, the CPC programme is focusing on supporting procurement and commissioning professionals to work together more effectively – across teams, organisations and sectors – in order to deliver better results and greater value. From flexible commissioning models to creative procurement strategies, iNetwork spotlights best practice through webinars, peer support groups, and podcasts. The safe spaces these events provide are designed to inspire, connect, and empower public sector professionals to try new things and learn from one another.

  1. Tackling Policy Outcomes Important to the Public Sector

Procurement and commissioning aren’t just about buying goods and services – they are powerful tools for addressing the issues that matter most to our communities. This year, we’re supporting members to embed key policy goals into their procurement and commissioning work, including:

  • Social value and inclusive growth – helping local economies thrive and reducing inequality.
  • Environmental sustainability – supporting the journey to Net Zero.
  • Ethical procurement – tackling modern slavery and promoting transparency down the supply chain.
  • Resilient local economies – empowering SMEs and VCSEs to play a bigger role in public contracts.

With new procurement legislation and a growing focus on place-based outcomes, the CPC programme is more relevant than ever. We’re here to support our members through change—offering practical tools, peer support, and a platform for innovation.

To kick off Quarter 1, we hosted two events aligned with our programme priorities: our Insourcing Roundtable and The Procurement Act Peer Support Group. These sessions sparked insightful conversations around opportunities for innovation and delivering social value – two pillars at the heart of this year’s programme priorities.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to invite you to our next Procurement Act Peer Support Group: Market Engagement Session, on the 15th July 2025. This session will feature expert insights from Phil McCabe (The Federation of Small Businesses) and Paul Atherton (STAR Procurement) on how public sector organisations can meaningfully engage with SME’s and local businesses in the procurement process.

Whether you’re a commissioner, procurement professional, contract manager, or budget holder, we invite you to get involved. Join us to explore new ideas, share your experiences, and connect with others who are passionate about improving public services.
